Nagod’s Rajmandir is the pride and joy of Kunwar Indrajit Singh Parihar and his wife, Kunwarani Madhulika Singh. The couple belongs to the royal family of Nagod and have a natural penchant for entertaining. Kunwar Indrajit simply loves to talk and is overflowing with stories while his wife is a charming lady who effortlessly whips up an incomparable array of delectable dishes. Together they complement each other perfectly.
The Rajmandir homestay has 2 guest bedrooms and is located in 70 acres of property. Its premises are used to grow a plethora of flowers, vegetables and fruits such as mangoes, guavas, radishes, potatoes amongst countless others. The entire property also houses a village, a school, a temple, and endless lush fields. The homestay is in its first year but has been serving as a stopover for tour groups from all over the world. In just those few hours the guests are served an exquisite lunch and are taught how to tie saris and safas (turbans). The experience was so well-liked by both the guests and the hosts that turning Rajmandir into a homestay was a natural progression. The home’s two rooms are different in size but share the same air of a bygone era, which is omnipresent all throughout the Rajmandir. The first is cosy, comfortable and decked with imported period furniture while the other room is massive and decorated with historically valuable artefacts. The living room is like a small museum and deeply appreciated by history lovers.
At the Rajmandir you’ll never face a dearth of activities. Day trips to Khajuraho, Bandhavgarh and Kallinjar Fort can be easily arranged on different days. Picnics at the Brahaspati Kund, trekking in nearby valleys and a visit to the Shankarji temple are greatly appreciated by guests. A short walk to the home’s neighbouring village is an enlightening and delightful experience
