Lush green mango and coconut trees greet you through the pathway of RK villas and fresh coconut water is served on the doorstep as a welcome drink. The three storey villa is remarkably fun and flourishing with rice yields and vegetable growth spread across the 3 acre land. It indeed is a mini farm comprising hens, ducks, lambs and little birds around the villa. Named after the owner, Rubina Khan, RK villa of Kashid Beach has a beautiful look and a hospitable feel to it.
Rubina built the villa almost 15 years ago and feels proud about handpicking every piece around the house from towels to the paint colour. Mr. Imtiaz Khan is a retired government officer and runs the place with along his wife in absolute serenity. They make a great duo of warm, friendly hosts, highly flexible while it comes to catering to the needs of the guests.
The Kashid beach is most popular with rock less shore up to a 3 km stretch. The entire spread is white and clear of any stones, rough patches or rocky areas. You can spot some adventure activities like surfing on the beach due to the high waves. Along the entrance of the beach are a few coconut vendors and a variety of eating stalls. The beach is not very crowded and can be a fun place to relax and tan.
RK Villas is located 33Kms from Alibaugh, near Mumbai. The emerging destination for beach holidays, Kashid, offers white sandy beaches and a wonderful environment, especially during the monsoons. The guest rises with sun beaming through the hills, entering the house through the huge balcony. The sound of the ducks quaking start as early as 4’o clock in the morning. One and a half acre land is utilized for growing Kolam rice that is served to the guests staying in the villas. The rest of the land has huge number of trees creating a green getup and with animals in a small part, a farm look.
RK villa is a five bedroom house, each having an attached bathroom and a unique theme colour assigned to it. Rust room is the master bedroom which is located on the second floor and has huge balconies facing the farm and hills. There are two bedrooms, pink and blue, on the first floor that also has the dining room and the main room. The common balcony next to the main room has a huge cane seating area. Lastly, on the ground floor are the yellow and the green rooms. A sprawling lawn has hammocks, wooden chairs and well designed seating arrangements adding zing to the place. The swimming pool is right behind the garden.
Rubina loves to serve the guests meals cooked at home in a home style fashion with white onions and rice grown in the farm. The lovely chicken meal is a must try for Non vegetarians. The vegetables and dal have a unique taste to them. According to the cook, the water of Kashid makes all the difference.
