Jai Vilas is a sprawling bungalow situated in the posh locality of Bapu Nagar in Jaipur. This homestay is a 15-minute drive from the railway station and a 30-minute drive from the airport. The hosts are Mr. Jaideep Singh and his wife. Their ancestry traces back to the legendary Prithviraj Chauhan who defeated the Afghan ruler Muhammad Ghori in the first battle of Tarain in 1191. Jaideep Singh, incidentally, is an avid golfer. He is a member of the prestigious Rambagh Golf Club- one of the oldest golf clubs in the country. One of the advantages of staying at Jaideep's place is that he can take his guests along for a round of golf at this 18-hole golf club (with par 72 yardage) that happens to be located quite close to his home.If the exhilarating round of golf whips up a heavy appetite in one, one needn't fret. Head back to Jai Vilas where cooking is considered an art form. The guests staying here are treated to some authentic Rajasthani fare- the recipes of which have been passed down to the hosts through the generations. Taste of the mouth watering dishes of Rajasthan is more enhanced due to the warm hospitality of the hosts The expansive Jai Vilas comes with all the trappings of a modern home yet retains an age-old charm that never fails to surprise anyone coming here. So, if one is looking for a place in Jaipur that provides the warmth and hospitality in-line with the Rajasthani tradition of padharo mhare des (which loosely translates to 'welcome to my land'), then Jai Vilas is the place to be.
