Around 40 kms away from Chandigarh, Mann Farm House is situated in Talaiyan district, very close to one of the well-known religious spots of Sikhs- Fatehgarh Sahib. Amidst 18 acres of farmland, the homestay is a part of the local countryside which offers a peaceful and serene environment to the visitors. Karanvir Mann and his wife Nartesh Mann are the gracious hosts of the homestay. Karanvir is a modest poet who appreciates literature, history and politics. Nartesh on the other hand, likes reading, cooking and gardening. She plays the role of managing the homestay as it was her idea to start a homestay service far from the hustle bustle of the main city.
The homestay is adorned by a well maintained front-lawn garden and wheat/maize farms around it. It is a huge residential building comprising of two double bed rooms with modernly equipped attached bathrooms, two living rooms, well-equipped spacious kitchen and a dining room. The house is clean, hygienic and nicely ventilated. The comforts of the house are homely with comfy sofas and beds. The cuisine served in the house is traditional Punjabi cuisine which includes home vegetables like ‘Saag’ (spinach) with ‘makke ki roti’ (made from maize) or seasonal ‘paranthas’ (partially fried Indian bread) with fillings of local vegetables like potato, cabbage, etc.
Apart from the well-known Fatehgarh Sahib, the homestay is about 20 minutes drive away from the Indus Valley site, Sanghol. Other nearby attractions includes Mata Chakreshvri Devi Jain Temple, Durga of Sheikh Ahmed Sirhindi and a complex of Gurudwaras.
