As you enter the driveway of the homestay you are greeted by a magnificent, old Banyan Tree, which lends its name to the homestay. The greenery of the region and the property itself makes it's temperature 3-4 degrees Celsius lower than the rest of the city. As people familiar with Delhi's weather will know, this is a huge asset during summers.
Major Gen Dugal, who is a successful businessman himself, bought the Farmhouse in November 2005 and turned it into a B&B one year ago. His own experience as an avid traveller and corporate giant ensures that the homestay has 7 star facilities with the warmth of a home. And thanks to his eye for detail, in just one year's time, the homestay has acquired an enviable reputation amongst discerning travellers and corporate clients. Initially, it was bought for private use but one thing led to another and soon it became a thriving homestay. The "New Wing" was added with 4 rooms and a large-size pool. All the 6 guest rooms are huge. Most have their own dressing rooms, balconies and lavish ensuite baths. View from all homes is an integral part of their decor. A self-sufficient suite, with its own pantry, lounge and outdoor terrace lawn seating area is available for people looking for an extended stay. Both the Old and the New Wings share a similar ethnic facade but the rooms in the New Wing are more modern. Rich colours, unique furniture and artifacts embellish the home. In spring, a "waterfall" of hot pink bougainvilleas is seen from the large breakfast room.
The Banyan Tree is extremely soothing and almost therapeutic in nature. It is a wonderful option for corporate clients due to its close proximity to Faridabad and Gurgaon. In fact, senior executives have checked out of 5 stars hotels in Delhi/ Gurgaon and moved here for the rest of their stay. People who stay at the homestay love to swim, listen to the chirping birds and stare at the starry sky. Qutub Minar is 25 mins away if there's heavy traffic.
