Worst Experience
I have stayed in 3 homestays across Kerala during my recent holiday, Kimansion was the worst. It is actually run by one caretaker. No sense of customer service. There was no one to even clear the tea cups until we checked out. My stay also included complimentary breakfast, which to my surprise was just butter, toast and jam.

A nice stay.
A quaint property located in a quiet quarter of Fort Cochin.The stay was enjoyable inspite of it being a far cry from being a home stay.The only host we saw was the pretty efficient caretaker.Don't ever stay in this place if you are particular about hot water showers!!!

Well situated but impersonal
Well situated close to the (dirty) beach and within easy walking distance of the town centre, Kimansion is an elegant and hugely spacious colonial town house. My room was likewise elegantly furnished, although the hot water never functioned (despite polite enquiries) and the bed clothing left something to be desired. It didn't however feel much like a B&B, being run by a houseboy with limited English but willing attitude, with occasional visits by the 'manager'. Breakfast was disappointing - my advice is to take it in one of the luxury hotels overlooking the sea nearby. The Dal Puri restaurant close by, recommended by the houseboy, is excellent , one of the best places I've found while living in India - simple, fresh and tasty food, in simple but stylish surroundings. It's popular, so book in advance.
