Green Acres Haveli is located just a few minutes from the international airport as well as the main city of Amritsar, Punjab. The rustically designed homestay is the pride and joy of Dr. Santokh Singh, a retired surgeon with a most affable personality. The property belonged to Sardar Waryam Singh, Amritsar's first mayor and Dr Singh's father. Green Acres Haveli presents guests with architecture from traditional 19th century countryside homes but with modern amenities. The central courtyard, high walls and a large main gate were signatures of homes belonging to landlords of yesteryears. Under the current home owners extensive restoration was undertaken to enhance the majesty of the Haveli while preserving its greenery.
The haveli's 8 double and 1 single room all boast of enviable amenities like safes, room to room intercom etc. Fruit orchards, lavish lawns, a swimming pool, pool table, in-house gym and children's playing areas make this homestay a great option for all kinds of travellers. Guests must visit the Golden Temple and Jallianwallan Bagh, and even witness the evening retreat ceremony at the Indo-Pak border. Other memorable activities that can be arranged for guests include tractor rides, horse carriage rides, village visits, milking cows, picking eggs and much more. In winters, a bonfire in the evening keeps people warm and is a great place to interact with the hosts.
