This homestay was absolutely filthy. Everything in this property was dirty, curtains, floor and with only three plastic garden chairs to sit on to watch TV made it extremely uncomfortable. Dark walls with one bare light bulb to eat by and dirty mattresses. We had booked to stay for 5 days but after one night we decided we had to find another accommodation and booked into the Punnamada Hotel at an additional cost to us of £400. We feel this property was totally misrepresented on your website and the description was totally false.

Mixed impressions
One room fine, other very shabby and grubby. Neither had a door lock and one only had a table and plastic chair for clothes etc.. No towels provided in either room, just really filthy cloths which we think were meant to wipe floor with. Showers were alwaysreally cold.Huge cockroaches in bathroom and eating area.Host there on arrival and very pleasant but offered not even water after our 5 hour journey. He did, however, help us to organise a backwater trip and recommended a good restaurant and a barbers. He also kindly arranged a taxi for our onward journey, but we did not see him again after second morning. His wife was charming, clearly keen to chat to and anxious to please especially with an evening meal. This was very tasty, but rather expensive in comparison with restaurant meals. Breakfast the same each morning and very limited. Overall very disappointing after brilliant Riverside(Kochin) and 2nd homestay in Periyar (this not booked through Mahindra.)

About Tharavad , Alleppey
It was pricey as compared to amenities/food provided for B/F. Enough beddings were not provided/available for 4 members. This was the basic need for any Homestay facility. Pl. look into what B/F menu is provided, it was only omelet & no jam, other items available . As well Tea was served same time around when omelet was served. And the children around the place were too noisy disturbing the quiet surroundings..Basics need to be looked into as I have booked another group in last month of November at the sme place.
