Ekanth is home to Gajender Kumar and his charming wife, Vimla. Ekanth was built back in 1986. From the beginning, Gajender, the architect of his own home, designed the property to provide space for family and guests, both for bonding and good times, as well as for privacy. Gajender and Vimla always wanted to share their home with friends. It is no wonder that ‘Ekanth’, translated, means ‘peace’.
Gajender runs his own business. Vimla takes care of the home.
Gajender is a collector of antiques and old paintings. He is particularly fond of a sketch of Bernard Shaw that adorns his living room, whom he introduces to his guests as his ‘grandfather’. Gajender and Vimla are passionate about preserving the environment and the life of every living creature, and are strict vegetarians. Vimla specializes in delicious vegetarian Jain cuisine.
‘Ekanth’, the home of peace and solitude, is a heritage two storied bungalow, surrounded by 2 acres of lush foliage, flowering plants, and a variety of trees, birds and butterflies. The guest can enjoy lazying in the open air balcony, with amazing views of the highest peak, Doddabetta and the surrounding mountain ranges. The balcony is a remarkable sunset point, the setting sun reflecting its drowsy rays from the towering Silver Oaks, the sky ablaze with all the hues of twilight.
