As you are driving towards the Balunda House the quaint mixture of urban and traditional will catch your eye. The homes around the Balunda House present you an eclectic imagery where an elaborate jharoka will share space with a ping-pong table. And this uniquely Indian characteristic will be reflected in the Balunda House, where a modern lifestyle comes together with a spirit of hospitality that's inherent in Indian hosts.
With the help of three staff members, Mr. Narendra Singh and his wife, Pavnesh manage the Balunda House. With over 20 years of experience in the tourism industry, Mr. Singh is a virtual encyclopaedia on Udaipur and will ensure that you don't miss a single worthy experience. Besides the usual suspects like Lake Palace, Fatehsagar Lake, Jagdish Temple etc., he will also guide you to absolute gems around the city like Ranakpur Temple, Nathdwara, Chittorgarh Fort, Haldighati and countless other. The Singhs have been residents of Udaipur for over 30 years and their knowledge is extremely helpful for those hunting for a good bargain.
The homestay has four spacious suites, a lush lawn and two common areas. When describing the home's maintenance, the only word that springs to mind is impeccable; truly a credit to Mrs. Singh, who's a charming mix of efficient yet informal. With the Singh family, you'll be invited to family functions, parties and even weddings - an experience that cannot be bought and shouldn't be missed. In just a few hours, you'll find yourself feeling completely at home, spending an evening watching a cricket match with the entire family, and exchanging amusing anecdotes for hours. If that isn't the very purpose of a homestay, what is?
