HOMESTAY DETAILS

Easy to locate on the prominent Court Road of Alappuzha, Temple View Residency is aptly named so, due to the Udipi Krishna Temple on the opposite side of the road. Though in the middle of the town, the sprawling courtyard transports you away from the busy vendors and traffic outside. The century old house was taken up by Mr. Pillai and his wife close to the partition, but recently added the 3 rooms and suite to guest visiting the “Venice of the East”. A lively coterie of an old uncle, Mr. Pillai’s mother and his wife, keeps the house busy with activity.

An old construction for storage of rice stands fascinatingly in the corner of the courtyard. The newly built rooms are comfortably far apart from each other and stand around the central low roofed house. The rooms are spacious and clean with basic infrastructure. Delicacies from the vegetable garden often find their way to the delectable Kerala food in the house. Food can be served in the rooms or under a garden umbrella right in the middle of the courtyard. One can also hop over to the restaurant outside by the same name, for a break to the palette.
