HOMESTAY DETAILS

The 165-year old home of Philip and Rocky is not just rich in history but also character. The home’s sprawling landscape reveal its vibrant façade almost like a well-kept secret. And once inside, the home is sure to impress with its rich interiors, which have been used as a location for movie shoots. But its best feature is its ultimate location. Placed right opposite the Alleppey beach, it offers stunning views to guests from its enormous communal area on the floor above. No other option could suffice, particularly for a beach lover.

With over seven years of experience, the Beach Bungalow has built an enviable reputation. Guests simply fall in love with the home’s eclectic mix of antique furniture, delightful location and particularly the home’s owner, Philip. Affectionately called “Grandpa” by guests, Philip manages the homestay with his efficient staff, and acts as the president of The United Club. He ensures that the home’s seven guest rooms are warm and inviting. Embellished with chandeliers and period furniture, most of the rooms also share the home’s historical air. Philip likes to maintain the home’s informal ambience and encourages people to put up their feet, relax and freely use the kitchen for personal use. Philip has served as an advisor to the government of Kerala. He’s also the founder and managing member of District Tourism Promotion Township. All this wealth of experience makes him a valued resource for tourists.

At a nearby club, Philip can arrange a game of billiards for guests. And can also organise a swimming session in the local sports complex. The home is right across the beach, which is famous for its clean water and sparse crowds. The beach strip is also an ideal place for a walk. One can also find some charming cafes and restaurants along this stretch. Migratory birds come calling to the locales in some seasons.
