Located in Anachal, well connected by road and about 11 kms away from Munnar, Mushroom valley homestay is surrounded by scenic and serene surroundings. The dark blue walls of the house stand in contrast with lush green of flora and light blue sky in the background. Johney Cheruthanniyil and his wife Binni are the gracious hosts of the homestay. Where Johney runs a business in finance, Binni is a housewife who enjoys cooking traditional Kerala cuisine. The food prepared in the house is a mix of North Indian, South Indian, Western and traditional Kerala dishes. Staying with their three daughters, Johney and his wife are ever ready to help their guests explore the scenic beauty, ethnic and historic imprints of Munnar. They aim at providing the guests with the perfect atmosphere of a home while sharing their culture and lifestyle with them.
The house entrance leads the guests to a spacious communal area, which is directly connected to four guest rooms surrounding it. The rooms are neat, airy and offer a fresh view of the hills around through big windows on walls facing the room bed. Since the house is located at a considerable distance from the main market, it is highly peaceful and a natural escapade from the otherwise commercialized area of the hill station. Proximity to the main town without compromising with calm surroundings makes Mushroom Valley a good option to spend one’s vacations in Munnar.
To live in the enchantment of misty mornings and evenings while having a bonfire in the house garden, one needs to experience Mushroom Valley homestay.

When travelling from Periyar one will need to traverse the Cardamom Hills with its fresh scented air. With an altitude of around 1600m, Munnar is the centre of Kerala’s principal tea growing region which was developed in the late 19th century by Scottish planters...[read more]
