Devikulam, about six kms away from Munnar (in the south-west), is an idyllic hill station situated at an altitude of 1800 metres above the sea level. The tea plantation on the hills gives them a velvety look, their beauty enhanced by the mist rolling down creating a serene landscape. An ideal home amidst this scenic hill station is ‘Pavithram’. The hosts of the homestay are Rajesh and Maya, both lawyers by profession. They had been offering their hospitality to many foreign and domestic tourists since last three years. The small family of three, including their daughter, mix with their guests with ease over discussions on history, culture, lifestyle of people and personal experiences in Munnar. Rajesh and Maya believe that the opportunity to host tourists from multi-cultural backgrounds is an enriching experience for them as well as the guests.
Pavithram is a beautiful house facing the road going up the hill to Sita Devi Lake which is considered to be a good picnic spot and ideal for trout fishing. The house has two double bedded deluxe rooms on the first floor and a four bedded room outside, facing the house-garden. One of the guest rooms inside the house gives a beautiful view of the road leading to the house, from the left window and the view of the same road making its way up the hill from the room balcony (which can also be seen through big glass windows facing the bed). The rooms are clean and well furnished and bathrooms hygienic. The cuisine served is vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian varying in options like traditional Kerala food, continental, etc., prepared by an experienced in-house chef.
To experience the beauty of Munnar in the best way possible, away from the hustle bustle of the town, ‘Pavithram’ is the one of the best options available.

Munnar
The combination of Munnar’s refreshing climate, its High Range hilltops and luxuriant spice and tea gardens makes it an exceptional holiday destination. Munnar can be reached from Kochi via winding hilltop roads punctuated by waterfalls, precipitous views, and engulfed by lush tropical forests. When travelling from Periyar one will need to traverse the Cardamom Hills with its fresh scented air. With an altitude of around 1600m, Munnar is the centre of Kerala’s principal tea growing region which was developed in the late 19th century by Scottish planters...[read more]
