LOCATION
Pali is Located in central Rajasthan and shares a common border with Jodhpur.

HISTORY
Pali has witnessed the rise and fall of many dynasties from ancient times including Kushanas, Harshavardhana, the Marwar state and Mughals. Pali gets its name from the Paliwal Brahmins who resided in these lands. ATTRATION There are many temples and forts to see here. Prime amongst them is the 15th Century Ranakpur temple. The Parshuram Mahadev Temple, Temple of Chamunda Mata, Hatundi Rata Mahabir Swami Temple are also important temples. The Bangur Museum has a great collection of artefacts. The Jawai Dam is a beautiful and serene place.

LANGUAGE
The local language is Rajasthani but hindi is common as well. English is spoken by those in the field of tourism and youngsters.

CUISINE
Due to the region's dry climate the food is usually laced with a lot of butter and ghee. Cold beverages are integral to staying hydrated. Makhania lassi, pyaaz kachori and dal-baati-choorma are the state's specialties.
