LOCATION
Kewzing is a small Bhutia (Buddhist) village located in Ravang-la the main district in East Sikkim. It is 4 hours by car from Gangtok, the state's capital.

HISTORY
The small village does not have any historic monuments or ancient temples. But it's rich in Buddhist culture. There's a small village monastery. To learn about the village's history a talk with a village elder and an interpreter can be arranged.

CUISINE
Kewzing is primarily a village and each home produces its own organic vegetables. These veggies are some of the juiciest in the world and dishes made using them are simple but simply unforgettable. Milk, eggs etc are produces by the home's own farm animals and non vegetarian food is made using the home's own poultry. Momos are a delicious, local snack. A splendid alcoholic drink is made by every home and must be tried.

LANGUAGE
The locals are fluent in Hindi. English is spoken well enough by the men and the youth.

ATTRACTIONS
Kewzing is a small village with a huge heart. People here are some of the gracious you will ever meet. They will welcome you into their homes like family will leave an indelible mark in your hearts. Kewzing's natural beauty is untouched by man and is simply enchanting. There are beautiful cloud covered mountains all around. Treks though fields and partaking in a family's chores is simple loved by visitors. Guests are welcomed at the local monastery with a touching prayer and ceremony performed by the head monk himself. The revered kecheopalri lake is 2 hours from Kewzing and one can go there for a day tour.
